I only just discovered your blog and your books, but I'm very much looking forward to digging into both! I'm only beginning my own journey with my autistic five year old son, but mercy I'm glad there are people like you who are sharing their experiences. A very happy belated Mother's Day!

I’m with Coop…planning helps me with my anxiety as well. My favorite motto is, “If you fail to plan, you plan to fail.” GO COOP! I loved the arc the words he picked out made in your essay. 💜

That is wonderful communication! My son is a year younger, and he communicates using Eye Gaze tech on a digital screen. Sometimes he doesn't use it at all, and then just last week, he started heckling his class teacher with it, 'READ STORY', he said, 'READ STORY', 'READ STORY', 'READ STORY'... until he was taken down to the library to do just that!
