“You are glossing over severe autism. You used to be real and honest and now it’s all sunshine and roses.”
That’s what the comment said.
I honestly had to read it a few times before it sank in.
This social media life is funny I tell ya. For so long I shared, even overshared, about our family’s struggles. And while I truly believe in my head that I did it respectfully and from a place of love, I made the decision a while back to come at this autism advocacy/education from a different angle.
And I made the decision for a few reasons.
But first, let me say, although I know with this group it doesn’t need to be said…my son Cooper still has a diagnosis of severe, nonverbal, level 3 autism, with a language impairment, Apraxia, and an intellectual disability. And don’t forget to sprinkle in a bit of ADHD and anxiety to make things really interesting.
