Grief Adjacent; A Sibling's Story

I wasn't prepared for this part.

Yesterday, my ten-year-old son Sawyer woke up angry. This isn’t all that strange honestly. I’ve joked before that he is like a wild bear in the mornings…no matter what time he wakes up.

We give Sawyer 30 minutes or so and suddenly my sunshine boy emerges.

But yesterday was different. He stayed angry all morning. So much so that he refused to be near me …
